Each year tens of billions of dollars are stolen from well-meaning people because of targeted scams. Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin has scheduled a series of “Scam Alert Seminars” to be held in various communities throughout the 42nd Assembly District to educate her constituents on the tools and resources needed to recognize and combat these deceitful and dishonest practices. These seminars, co-hosted by the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP), the City of Calabasas, California Department of Justice (DOJ), California Department of Financial Protection & Innovation, and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department will provide residents with information on how to protect themselves from the latest scams.

The first Scam Alert Seminar will take place in the City of Calabasas on Thursday, October 5th @ 10:00 a.m.
