Building

The Building Department is responsible for safety standards for the design, construction, materials, use and occupancy of all buildings and structures within the City. The Department provides plan check, permit issuance, and inspection services for new construction, additions and remodels to ensure all structures meet or exceed the minimum life-safety standards of the codes adopted by the City of Hidden Hills. The Department also ensures plans are reviewed by City Departments or other interested agencies. Permits are issued only after plans are complete and corrected as required. Inspections are performed during the construction process through final inspection. The Building Department prepares, for adoption by the Council, updated Building and Fire Codes every three years as required by the state of California. Local amendments are also included with this code update.

Hidden Hills Permit Center

Plan checks and permits can be applied for online at the Hidden Hills Permit Center.

The City’s electronic plan check and permit system allows you to:

  1. Submit a permit application online
  2. Upload plans for plan review
  3. Pay most fees with a credit card
  4. Request inspections for permitted projects.

By submitting your plans in an electronic format (PDF), most of the cost associated with paper plans is eliminated and the system will keep you updated with automated emails and status labels.

Apply for Plan Check or Permit at the Permit Center

First, please read these PDF Submittal Guidelines for how to label and format your PDFs prior to uploading them to the Permit Center.

Second, to begin using the Hidden Hills Permit Center:

  1.        Create an account at this website: https://hiddenhills.cts.city.
  2.        Verify your email address, and then log back into the web site.
  3.        Fill out the online permit application and upload your PDF plan documents.
  4.        Pay the plan check and/or permit fees with a credit card. Convenience fees will apply.

Planning

The Planning Department provides the community of Hidden Hills with an array of current and advanced planning services. The Department reviews development and land-division projects to ensure conformance with City-established policy and regulations. The Department maintains and administers the City’s General Plan, ensuring that it reflects community values and state statutes. Planning also carries out the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the Subdivision Map Act.
