Risks of Rodenticides

The City of Hidden Hills reminds residents about the dangers and risks of using rodenticides as a form of pest control on their properties. These toxic products can cause unintentional health damage – and even death – to pets and wildlife. The California Department of Pesticide Regulation regulates pesticides, including rodenticides, at the State level. In 2014, the City passed a Resolution urging all property owners to cease the purchase and use of anticoagulant rodenticides on their property and committed the City of Hidden Hills to not use anticoagulant rodenticides on City property. A local non-profit organization, Poison Free Malibu, offers Do-It-Yourself and professional poison-free management recommendations.
