In 2012, the City entered into an MOU with the City of Calabasas and the Las Virgenes Unified School District to provide the City of Hidden Hill’s share of property taxes for library services to enhance library programing at the Calabasas Library and provide library related assistance to the School District.
In February 2023 the City Council discussed the MOU and directed staff to let the MOU expire in June 2023. The Hidden Hills “Library” property tax funds are now being held by the City in a restricted fund for future library programming. The City has entered into a consulting agreement with ReThinking Libraries, a nationally recognized library consulting firm that specializes in new library trends and non-traditional ideas about the role libraries can play in local communities. The City is excited about this important project and looking forward to providing 21st Century library programming for all Hidden Hills residents to enjoy.
