On Monday, February 2, the City of Hidden Hills will transition to a new official web address and staff email domain as part of a statewide requirement to modernize and secure local government digital services. Our web address will change from www.hiddenhillscity.org to www.hiddenhills.gov, and City staff email addresses will also be updated to reflect the new .gov domain.
This change is being made in response to California Assembly Bill 1637, authored by Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin (D-Thousand Oaks) and signed into law by Governor Newsom. The bill requires all cities and counties in California to adopt a .gov or .ca.gov domain for public-facing websites and official email addresses. The goal of the legislation is to enhance cybersecurity, improve public trust in government communications, and help residents quickly recognize official local government online resources. AB 1637 also clarifies that local governments qualify for these domain names at no additional registration cost.
Residents will be automatically redirected from the old address, and outgoing email from City staff will reflect the new domain. We encourage you to update any bookmarks or saved links to ensure uninterrupted access.
