The National Weather Service has reissued a Red Flag Warning for the Santa Monica Mountains from 8:00 a.m. on Monday, January 20th through 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 21st.
This warning is due to gusty Santa Ana winds, extremely low humidity, and very dry vegetation, which create critical fire weather conditions that significantly increase the risk of fire ignition, rapid spread, and extreme behavior.
The period between 12:00 p.m. Monday and 10:00 a.m. Tuesday is classified as a PDS (Particularly Dangerous Situation) by the NWS.
