The City of Hidden Hills declared a local emergency on January 8th, due to the Palisades Fire threatening city boundaries, high winds, and poor air quality. The following activities are prohibited:
- All non-essential repair, maintenance and construction work.
- The use of portable outdoor barbecue grills.
- The use of any outdoor fire pits, fireplaces, or any outdoor fire of any kind for any purpose.
- Any outdoor activity that could cause a spark or flame.
- Outdoor smoking of tobacco, cannabis or any other inhalable product.
- The use of gasoline or propane powered equipment for home or property maintenance or repair (e.g. mowers, weed eaters, chainsaws, welders, and portable generators). Notwithstanding, generators used for providing emergency power to a home and generators for medical use are permitted.
This local emergency shall continue for no more than seven days from when it was first issued, unless this proclamation is ratified by a resolution of the City Council.
