We Need Your Help! Wildfire Prevention Resources for Hidden Hills

November 21, 2024

Key Wildfire Prevention Programs
You Can’t Afford To Miss

As part of the city’s ongoing efforts to enhance community safety, we’re excited to share information about the Los Angeles Emergency Preparedness Foundation (LAEPF). This privately funded organization supports the City and County of Los Angeles in disaster preparedness, risk mitigation, crisis management, and building long-term resiliency.

For Hidden Hills residents, LAEPF offers two incredible programs to help prevent wildfire-related risks:

Community Brigade Program

We are proud that Hidden Hills has been selected as one of only seven communities in Los Angeles County to participate in LAEPF’s Community Brigade. This program equips residents with tools and training to strengthen our community’s wildfire resilience.

Volunteers are trained in fire behavior, communications, home hardening, and operational procedures in order to assist in achieving incident objectives. Acting as trusted resources with intimate local knowledge, the Brigade enhances the support available to responding agencies during wildfires and other disasters.

Learn more about the program and join HERE.

Home Ignition Zone Assessments

LAEPF provides free Home Ignition Zone assessments to evaluate your property and recommend ways to reduce wildfire risks and protect your home.

LAEPF mitigation specialists will visit your home and create an assessment report with specific recommendations to reduce wildfire risks and exposures. Home Ignition Zone Assessments empower home and property owners by helping them to implement tried-and-true best practices to mitigate their vulnerability to these disasters. This is an invaluable resource to help prevent structure loss during a wildfire.

Sign up for an assessment HERE.

We Need Your Help!

These free programs play a vital role in helping Hidden Hills achieve a Firewise Community designation, which will help reduce insurance rates throughout the city, while protecting your family, home, and community. To learn more about the LAEPF and the programs they provide, click HERE.

Together, we can make Hidden Hills safer and more resilient.
