Ways to Secure Your Home

October 11, 2022

The Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station has reported several residential burglaries in the neighboring communities of Calabasas and Agoura Hills. These burglaries follow similar patterns to other burglaries near “open space.” Although Hidden Hills has only experienced one of these types of burglaries in the last two years, Hidden Hills residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and continue to take active steps to secure their home and property.

Helpful Tips from the Sheriff’s Department:

  • If you see anything suspicious contact the Sheriff’s Department immediately. To report suspicious activity, call 818-878-1808. For emergencies, dial 911.
  • Lock all doors and windows, even on the second story of your home. Consider adding glass break sensors to your security system.
  • If you have an alarm, arm it whenever you leave the house.
  • If you are gone, leave some lights and the television on. Make your house look like somebody is home.
  • If you are going to be gone, ask your neighbor to keep an eye out on your home.

If you will be traveling, contact City Hall to request a vacation check. Sheriff’s deputies will stop by your house several times while you are gone.
