Understanding How the Municipal Code Gets Updated
When the City Council adopts a new ordinance, it does not appear in the online Municipal Code immediately. Our code is updated (“codified”) by CivicPlus, the City’s codification provider, on a regular schedule (May and November). After each update begins, it typically takes 2–4 months for CivicPlus to complete editing and publishing. This timeframe is typical for all cities.

Click the Municipal Code link below. On the front page of the Code site, you’ll see a list of recently adopted ordinances that have not yet been codified. You can review them there while the formal update is in progress.
