Your Hidden Hills Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is made up of trained resident volunteers committed to supporting emergency preparedness and response in the city. CERT members receive instruction in basic disaster response skills including fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and medical operations. In an emergency, they assist neighbors, support first responders, and help keep the community safe and connected.
Residents interested in becoming certified CERT members can take advantage of free hybrid classes (online and in-person) offered by the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The in-person sessions will be held at the Calabasas Community Center on Saturday, August 23, and Sunday, August 24. Participants must complete the online coursework before attending the in-person classes.
If you have previously completed CERT training and received a certificate of completion at any time in the past, you may skip the online classes and attend the in-person sessions as an excellent opportunity to refresh your skills.
Hidden Hills CERT members who have finished training and completed the City’s required paperwork will receive two-way radios and a pre-packed disaster preparedness bag stocked with emergency and medical supplies valued at $1,000.
